Cordyceps Kingdom in Yunnan

From 2000 to now, Professor Yan of the College of Life Sciences of Yunnan University has set up an innovative academic and technical team of Yunbaicao. Through the model of production, study and research, it has broken the division of colleges and universities, research institutes and enterprises. After more than ten years of hard work and Strive to build the Yunbaicao Research Institute of Yunnan University, and work on the investigation of Cordyceps biological resources. A total of more than 350 species of Cordyceps were collected, more than 15,000 Cordyceps specimens were produced, and more than 7,500 Cordyceps strains were isolated and preserved.
Domestic and foreign literature reports that there are more than 160 species of Cordyceps in China and 30 species of Cordyceps sinensis in Yunnan, indicating that the research on Chinese Cordyceps biological resources is far from enough, just starting, especially in Yunnan. The Yunbaicao team boldly estimated that there are more than 400 species of Cordyceps in China and more than 300 species of Cordyceps in Yunnan.

The cloud Baicao innovation team has built the cloud worm grass specimens and the cordyceps fungus culture collection center. It is a strategic database and large database for the research and development of industrialization of Cordyceps biological resources. It has also become a research and development and industrialization of Cordyceps biological resources with significant influence at home and abroad. The base is also a training base for the training of biological science and technology talents at Yunnan University.

After more than ten years of hard work and hard work, Yunbaicao Innovation Team has collected more than 250 species of Cordyceps species in Yunnan, accounting for more than 90% of the reported species of Cordyceps, suggesting that “Yunnan is not only a plant kingdom, but also a Chinese herbal medicine kingdom. The Cordyceps Kingdom and Yunnan are one of the global centers of Cordyceps species diversity and genetic diversity. It is proposed that the Hengduan Mountains may be the center of genetic diversity, the center of differentiation and the center of origin of Cordyceps sinensis.
